Fachproject Big Data Analytics
Description
In this course, we work together on a data mining challenge. This year, we very likely will follow the challenge given by https://2024.fedcsis.org . It has not been publishedd yet, but you can find last years here: https://2023.fedcsis.org/thematic/dm.
This fachproject is a collaboration with the statistics department. This means that half of the students will be computer science students, and half will be statistics students. As some of statistics students only speak english, this course will also be held in english.
While you can easily learn the basics of data analysis during this course, please consider that the statistics students usually have a bit more experience in this regard. So we require you to know at least python (or R), and suggest some experience with data mining libraries (numpy, sklearn, scikit-learn, tensorflow...).
We currently plan for two meetings a week, of which one will be mostly mandatory. We booked a room in the statistics building (directly next to the SBahn) for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:15-11:45.
